Type Locality and Naming
The type section is located at Yetisudaban, Yengisar County, Xinjiang. It was named by Zhen Baosheng in 1989.
Lithology and Thickness
Siltstone aand Sandstone. A suite of dominantly gray-black clastic rocks intercalated with carbonate rocks. At Yetisudaban, it is composed of black and gray-black clayey siltstone, dark-gray calcareous fine-grained sandstone and medium-grained sandstone intercalated with gray-black bioclastic rock, gray-black sandy limestone and minor conglomerate; exposed thickness 846.8 m. At Aijieke of Akto County, exposed thickness 1238.27 m; with small variation in lithology.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Conformable contact with the underlying lower Upper Carboniferous (Kuerling Gr)
Upper contact
Unknown: The top is unseen at type section. At Aijieke, it is overlain by the Lower Jurassic Series.
Regional extent
Distributed around Xilibili of Yengisar County. Exposed width 2−5 km, and length 20 km, striking NW-SE.
